Custom 55-Gallon Steel Drum Chair

Handcrafted in Nashville, built to handle the toughest workshops. The last shop chair you'll ever need.

BEYOND THE AVERAGE SHOP STOOL

Look, we all know shop stools suck. They're either wobbly metal nightmares or cheap plastic junk that cracks when you drop a wrench on them. We wanted something better for our own shop, so we started making these bad boys – real 55-gallon drums transformed into the most comfortable seat your workshop has ever seen.

Each barrel gets stripped down, cut, cleaned, and reborn with a thick 3" cushion that'll keep your backside happy during those long welding sessions. We've wrapped the edges so you won't snag your favorite work pants, and added handles so you can drag it wherever you need it. It's everything we wished our shop chairs were – so we just went ahead and built it.

"I built these chairs because I was tired of being uncomfortable in my own shop. Now I can't imagine working without one." — Phil, Nashville Metal Art

WHAT MAKES THESE DIFFERENT

THE REAL DEAL

Genuine 55-gallon steel drums, not some thin sheet metal nonsense that'll buckle the first time you sit down.

ACTUALLY COMFORTABLE

3" high-density foam that doesn't flatten out after a week. Your back will thank you after those marathon welding sessions.

YOUR SHOP, YOUR STYLE

We'll paint it any color and add your logo. Make it match your tools, your truck, or your company branding.

NO SHARP EDGES

All edges are rolled and covered with trim. No more snagged jeans or mystery cuts on your hands when you move it.

PERFECT HEIGHT

Sized right for working at normal bench height. No more hunching over or straining to reach your work.

EASY TO MOVE

Built-in handles for dragging around your shop. Sturdy enough to take abuse, light enough to reposition easily.

INDOOR/OUTDOOR TOUGH

Works just as well on the patio for after-work beers. Weather-resistant and ready for whatever you throw at it.

NASHVILLE-MADE

Hand-built in our shop, not mass-produced overseas. Each chair gets personal attention from real metalworkers.

BUILT FOR REAL SHOPS, BY REAL WELDERS

We spend all day in our shop, same as you. So we know what matters: This isn't just some pretty furniture piece – it's a working tool.

The steel can take abuse, the cushion supports your weight all day, and the whole thing is designed to live alongside your welders, grinders, and other equipment. We've been sitting on these chairs while making parts for years, and they're still going strong.

  • Won't tip over when you're leaning to reach something
  • Handles welding spatter and grinding sparks without damage
  • Stable enough to stand on when you need a little extra height
  • Easy to wipe clean when you inevitably spill something on it

FROM FOLKS LIKE YOU

My shop crew fought over this chair until I had to order three more. Best money I've spent on the shop this year.
